Bärbel’s 20+ year career as an entrepreneur began when she acquired SEPIA Group. She went on to lead the company as co-CEO and later CEO, driving growth through acquisitions, digital transformation and a strong focus on innovation, strategy and people. Her success was recognised with the WOMED Award for female entrepreneurship in 2011.
In 2021, she facilitated the acquisition of SEPIA Group by the STACI Group. Acting as transitional CFO, she gained expertise in M&A, corporate finance and company integration.
Bärbel continues to invest in international ventures including Brands On and sustainable real estate, combining long-term entrepreneurial strategy with financial insight.
She also empowers professionals to grow and reinvent themselves at pivotal moments in their entrepreneurial journeys. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at Vlerick, she inspires leaders through human capital, personal development, career innovation and entrepreneurial resilience.
