Christine Scheef
Associate Professor of Strategy
Christine Scheef works at the intersection of governance, strategy and family business. Her work explores how owners shape a firm’s strategic choices and how board composition and structure can influence strategic decisions and performance. She’s particularly interested in succession – helping families understand how to successfully transfer roles to the next generation.
Christine translates her research into practical insights for family business owners, entrepreneurs and executives. She has been published in leading journals – including the Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Management.
Her international experience has shaped her perspective. She lived in Singapore for five years – where she scaled up and led the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia. She also taught at the University of St.Gallen in Switzerland, where she established and led a forum for family business owners.
At Vlerick, Christine combines research, teaching and close collaboration with practice. She teaches on our Masters programmes and executive programmes – including Family Offices.
