Ellani Amirian is a doctoral researcher at Vlerick and KU Leuven. Her work focuses on scale-ups and human capital. She explores key issues such as the profiles that scale-ups want to hire, employee retention strategies and the impact of scaling on employee mental health. Her supervisors are Professor Veroniek Collewaert (Vlerick) and Professor Bart Leten (KU Leuven).

A first-generation university graduate, Ellani is dedicated to her academic and professional growth. At university, she engaged in extracurricular activities such as tutoring students and events coordination and marketing. She is currently a member of the Belgian Leadership Project – a programme which unites young leaders across the country.
