Freddy Van den Spiegel

Adjunct Professor of Finance

Freddy Van den Spiegel has built an extensive career in the financial sector. He has served on the board of directors of The Brussels Stock Exchange. He has also been Managing Director of Fortis Investments and Chief Economist at BNP Paribas Fortis.

He has also held senior roles in European financial institutions, including acting as president of the consultative panel of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors, and president of the regulatory committee of the European Financial Services Round Table. He’s also president of the Global Banking Committee of the European Bank Federation. And he’s a member of the Inter Institutional Monitoring Group. He currently serves on the boards of several companies.

As Adjunct Professor at Vlerick, Freddy teaches on financial markets and institutions on our Masters in Financial Management.
