Hans Buysse

Adjunct Professor of Corporate Finance

Is a former investment banker with experience in corporate finance. He’s currently Managing Partner at Clairfield Belgium.

Hans Buysse is a former investment banker who’s been Managing Partner at Clairfield Belgium since 2009. He’s previously worked for BNP Paribas Financial Markets, Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, NIBC Bank and Codic.

With experience in structured finance (PPP and cross-border lease), M&A (including negotiation and valuation), private equity, risk management and financial analysis,  Hans’ work focuses on business services, infrastructure and financial services. He plays an active role in PPP infrastructure transactions for De Lijn – and acts as a financial advisor for Koninklijke Bam, Engie, Willemen, Heijmans and Franki.

Hans has executed M&A deals for Huawei, Option International, Interparking, DNWB, Ajinomoto and Brambles. He’s also worked with the National Lottery, the Belgian Federal Government, Nomura, UBS, Duff&Phelps and Leonardo & Co.

Hans is a board member of EFRAG, EFFAS and XBRL International – and a member of the Consultative Working Group (CWG) for ESMA’s Corporate Reporting Standing Committee. He also chairs the Belgian Association of Financial Analysts (ABAF-BVFA).

In his role as Adjunct Professor at Vlerick, Hans teaches corporate finance.
