Lieven Baele

Visiting Professor of Finance

Lieven Baele is Professor of International Finance at Tilburg University and currently heads up the Finance department. His research topics include Empirical Asset Pricing, banking, and international finance – and he has a special interest in linking macro and financial models, understanding ‘stress periods’ and the fundamental mechanisms of asset price comovement. His work has been published in several renowned academic journals.

Lieven has been a consultant for several policy institutes – including the ECB and the European Commission – as well as several financial firms.

At Vlerick, Lieven teaches international corporate finance on our Masters in Financial Management programme.
