Marc Buelens

Emeritus Professor of Management

Combines his diverse experience with a passionate teaching style to inspire individuals to become better leaders.

Marc Buelens has studied the very limits of our talents. Can we become a great, charismatic leader in five easy steps? Why do we suffer from regret after making decisions? Marc tries to make complex things simple – yet he hates the notion of simplicity.

He is known for his passionate teaching style – and his original and fresh approaches to management problems. Marc has been an executive, a manager of a non-profit organisation, a member of a board and an editor. These diverse experiences have contributed to his academic work.

He has written many books as well as multiple articles in top international journals. He has researched at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations and studied at London Business School.

Marc is an Emeritus Professor at Vlerick, where he has taught for many years. He also shares his view on the business world and its developments in a weekly column for the leading Flemish business magazine, Trends.
