Marcus Alexander

Visiting Professor of Strategy

Marcus Alexander is an expert on managing multi-business groups, particularly in international environments. His research focuses on group-level strategy and the role of the corporate centre, as well as strategy process, innovation and execution – and mergers, acquisitions and alliances. Since 2019, he has focused on strategic agility.

Marcus’ work has featured in leading academic journals – and he’s co-authored several books on group-level strategy, outsourcing and globalisation.

He has been an Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at London Business School since 2001 and regularly teaches at the Danish Technical University and Oxford University.

Outside of the academic world, Marcus is an Advisory Board Member for a number of organisations. He has worked in investment banking and in strategy consulting at the Boston Consulting Group. He was also Director of the Ashridge Strategic Management Centre in London.
