Mathieu Luypaert’s field is corporate finance – and he specialises in mergers and acquisitions. More specifically, he studies M&A motives, underlying financial decisions, the impact of industry structures, information asymmetry, stock price effects and long-term synergy realisation following an M&A. He has presented his work at several international conferences and his research has been published in leading academic journals.
At Vlerick, Mathieu teaches corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions on several Masters, MBA and executive programmes – as well as heading our Centre for Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts. He also has international experience, teaching at institutions in China, Dubai, Ireland and France.
