Monica de Jong

Monica de Jong is a Doctoral Researcher at Vlerick and Ghent University. She collaborates closely with Professor Smaranda Boros, who is her PhD supervisor.

Her PhD focuses on emotional intelligence and diversity. Monica investigates situations in which both of these concepts play a role, such as emotional labour and conflict management. She’s particularly interested in leadership behaviour among managers and flight attendants, as Monica also works as a cabin attendant for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Before pursuing her PhD, Monica set up a new administrative and logistical support department for teachers at Wageningen University and Research (WUR).
