Peter Van Kemseke

Executive in Residence

Peter Van Kemseke is a Senior Advisor to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. He advises on topics such as the clean transition, industrial policy, sustainability, energy and climate policies, and competitiveness.

Before his current role, Peter had a long diplomatic career at institutions including NATO, the United Nations in New York and the European Union. He also taught on the European Studies programme at KU Leuven.

Peter is a strong advocate for closer cooperation between the public and private sectors. He believes we need to boost sustainable leadership to address the challenges – and seize the opportunities – that the current economic and societal transition presents.

In his role of Executive in Residence at Vlerick, Peter is a guest speaker and coach. He focuses on sustainable leadership and negotiation skills on our European Executive MBA and several executive education programmes.
