Thanos believes has a passion for understanding how executives and organisations make purposeful financial decisions. His work focuses on how behaviour shapes decision-making and how sustainability can be leveraged to create long-term value.

At Vlerick Business School, Thanos heads the Accounting & Finance group and teaches across MBA, Masters, open executive and company-specific programmes. He has developed a successful module on behavioural finance for managers and contributes to teaching in corporate sustainable finance and financial intermediation. A visiting professor at Ghent University, he has also taught executive audiences internationally, including in the UK, Chile, and China.

His work has been published in leading academic journals, presented at over 100 international conferences, research seminars, and central banks, and received media coverage in major international outlets. He is also a regular contributor to leading media publications.
