  • Ranked 1 in the Benelux for the 10th year in a row
  • Ranked 17 in Europe
  • Ranked 23 worldwide – up 4 places

Vlerick Business School remains for the 10th year in a row the #1 ranked provider of executive education in the Benelux, according to the 2022 Financial Times Executive Education Ranking. Operating in the heart of Europe, we are also the only business school in Belgium to be ranked in the combined ranking of 50 business schools worldwide, offering both open as well as customised programmes. On a European level, we maintain our top 20 position, remaining at 17. And on a global level, we rise 4 places, going from 27 to 23.

The Executive Education Ranking is issued annually by the Financial Times and takes into account both open programmes (for executives and entrepreneurs) and customised programmes (internal training programmes targeting specific groups within an organisation).

Patrick De Greve, General Director of Vlerick Business School, says: “It makes us extremely proud and happy to see that Vlerick Business School remains for 10 years in a row the number one partner for training programmes for entrepreneurs, managers and executives in the Benelux. This result is even more remarkable given the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused international mobility to be highly constrained over the past two years. Consecutive lockdowns forced us to close the school for the very first time since its foundation. But thanks to the extensive experience we’ve built with online learning, we were not only able to rapidly shift and boost the online delivery of our programmes, we also delivered online learning journeys with an impact as equally high as our in-class offerings. Our excellent ranking in a highly competitive European market clearly reflects that this qualitative switch to online has been highly valued. So I would like to thank our customers for their continuous trust in unprecedented times, and our faculty, programme managers and staff for their agility and dedication in redesigning and delivering programmes under difficult circumstances.”

Vlerick remains the #1 provider of executive education in the Benelux

For the 10th year in a row we remain the #1 ranked provider of executive education in the Benelux, according to the 2022 Financial Times Executive Education Ranking. Thanks to all our customers for their continuous trust!

When looking at the specific criteria that comprise the ranking, we attribute our excellent results mainly to the way in which our programmes enable participants to achieve their aims, meet both their personal and professional expectations, and the likelihood that they will recommend the programme. Secondly, Vlerick has improved its position on both the quality of teaching and the impact of our faculty as well as on the diversity of our faculty according to nationality and gender. Finally, our strong online offering has allowed us to attract participants from across the globe, positively impacting the criterium of international participants.

Regarding the open programmes, Vlerick Business School ranks 21 in Europe and 26 in the world. When looking at the individual criteria that the ranking is composed of, we have improved our position on no less than 13 out of 14 criteria. We score exceptionally well on:

  • Quality of faculty – ranked 18 out of 65 schools (+12)
  • Aims achieved – ranked 23 out of 65 schools (+13)
  • Faculty diversity – ranked 25 out of 65 schools (+22)

Rian De Bruycker, Customer Relationship Manager Open Programmes, elaborates: “The pandemic stimulated us to quickly switch to online and blended learning experiences, which has been a challenge both for us and our participants. Their continuous trust, support and belief in the quality of our programmes is what drove us to continuously adapt and improve the learning journeys we design and deliver. Our goal is to equip our participants with the knowledge and confidence to make a positive change in their organisations. We are extremely pleased to see our efforts reflected in the rankings, especially for the ‘aims achieved criterion.”

With regard to the customised programmes, we have risen from 16 to 14 in Europe, and we have also improved our global position, going from 28 to 23 worldwide. When looking at the individual criteria that the ranking is composed of, we’ve made progress on 8 out of 14 criteria. We score exceptionally well on:

  • Quality of faculty – ranked 20 out of 70 schools (+11)
  • Aims achieved – ranked 22 out of 70 schools (+6)
  • Faculty diversity – ranked 29 out of 70 schools (+20)

Patrick De Greve, Manager Customised Programmes, comments on these good results: “The customised team at Vlerick has always been committed to building real partnerships with our clients, which has made an enormous difference over the last 2 years. We are proud of their hard work and focus on creating value for client and participants. This year’s rankings reflect the efforts made to co-create and deliver impactful learning experiences that offer creative alternatives in blended and fully online formats.
