International Study Course Overview

Brussels basecamp: Leadership
The journey begins in Brussels – the beating heart of the European Union. Here, participants take part in a foundational module on leadership essentials, strategy and financial management. It’s the launchpad for the GEMBA journey ahead.
From the outset, the focus is on practical learning – so that participants can step off campus with the tools and approaches to make an immediate difference in their organisations.
Singapore or Cape Town: Leadership in an international context
Participants choose between Singapore and Cape Town for this module. In Singapore – in partnership with the Singapore Management University – the focus is on digital transformation and the future of work. Classroom learning is reinforced with visits to leading organisations including Bosch. In Cape Town – in collaboration with Stellenbosch Business School – the emphasis is on responsible leadership and sustainability. Highlights include visits to townships and tours of sustainable businesses and world-famous wineries.
EMBA Consortium – Choose from 10+ global locations
During the EMBA Consortium International Week, business schools from around the world host week-long explorations of unique themes and business challenges. The curriculum is updated every year, and can include topics such as:
- Family-owned, world market leaders – Munich
- Innovation and sustainability – Lima
- Geopolitics and long-term strategy – Tokyo
- Economic transformation – Warsaw
Participants choose which location they would like to attend – and then spend the week diving deep into their selected topic, alongside peers from across the world.
Paris: Sustainable value creation
Paris is one of the EU’s foremost financial hubs – and it’s here that participants dive into the critical topic of sustainable finance. They visit banks, investment firms, fintech companies and more to learn about ESG criteria, carbon markets and sustainable business practices.
This module – which was highlighted for its excellence by the Financial Times – deepens understanding of how businesses can create long-term value, sustainably.
San Francisco: Entrepreneurship and innovation
The final international study course takes place in Silicon Valley – the global epicentre of innovation. Hosted by UC Berkeley, the module includes in-depth learning on scaling start-ups, as well as visits to companies like Meta and Tesla.
Participants gain direct experience of Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial ecosystem – and connect with top executives and venture capitalists.
