Healthcare and life sciences

Building and expanding upon our many years of expertise in hospital management, we set up the Vlerick Healthcare Management Centre (HMC) in 2014.
Today, we work with leading actors such as doctors, hospitals, life science companies, health payers and regulators on finding answers to the big challenges facing the sector.
Our research draws upon the themes of affordable innovation (pharmaceutical health policy), value-based healthcare and the use of real world evidence. In our collaborative research network with hospitals (MINOZ), we focus on healthcare delivery research – the strategic, financial and operational management of hospitals.

Who we work with

Since 2017, we’ve entered into a strategic partnership with the Catholic University of Leuven. It is our shared mission to break down the barriers between scientists, the business community and the care sector. By bringing our networks together, we have formed an impressive ecosystem in terms of healthcare and innovation in Europe. Other collaborations with pioneering international institutions in care management, such as Imperial College London and University Medical Centre (UMC) Utrecht in the Netherlands, stem from a similar mission.
