Essentials in People Skills is made up of three intensive modules that you complete at your own pace. 

Module 1: Authenticity  

  • Learn the principles of authentic leadership – and apply them to your own development 
  • Explore the importance of embracing a growth mindset 
  • Discover the power of external feedback in your leadership journey 

Module 2: The leader as coach 

  • Understand the challenges of giving feedback 
  • Discover basic frameworks to use in coaching colleagues 
  • Explore the key components of emotional intelligence 
  • Learn to apply goal-setting principles – for yourself and others 

Module 3: Conclusion  

  • Focus on how to use your new skills and knowledge 
  • Plan to implement your skills, now and in the future 

Programme design 

This online journey brings together learning formats including videos, interviews, exercises, questionnaires and real-life examples. You’ll also have background reading to do and questions to help you reflect on your own experience.
 
In addition, you’ll take part in projects – giving you the opportunity to put theory into practice.
 
You can start Essentials in People Skills at any time – and study wherever and whenever suits you. It takes around 10 to 12 hours to complete the programme and you can split this time over a maximum of three months.
