Tine Holvoet

Profile

Tine Holvoet is a senior researcher at Vlerick Business School. She obtained a Master’s degree in Sociology at KU Leuven in 2005. She founded TeamTank – a multidisciplinary thinktank in Brussels – before joining Vlerick Business School in 2012. Tine gained international experience from contributing to the GEM consortium (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) from 2012-2015, providing an annual assessment on the framework conditions of entrepreneurship in Belgium and the level of entrepreneurial attitude, activity and aspirations. As a seasoned advisor and research collaboration partner, she has translated this research for government into a dozen research reports with broad visibility and impact.

Currently, Tine focuses on innovation and disruption in the global financial services sector and is exploring new ways to share knowledge and exchange experience. With a track record of multidisciplinary collaborations, she is also teaching financial literacy to music producers and social designers, and thus triggering atypical perspectives on finance. She believes finance will become an invisible and integrated service offered by global, cross-industrial ecosystem players, where financial inclusion is critical. As member of the board of Fintech Belgium – Belgium’s most important bottom-up organization federating and representing 70 Belgian fintechs – she is actively promoting fintech, providing a dialogue with the Belgian and European regulators.
