Although our PhD students work under the daily supervision of Vlerick faculty, the doctoral programme itself is organised through our parent universities (our preferred partners for PhD degrees). This implies doctoral candidates graduate at one of the parent universities
when they successfully completed their doctoral study programme. This programme consists of different activities: qualifying course work, presenting research results, attending doctoral seminars, and active participation in international conferences. More information on the specificities of the doctoral programme can be found on the doctoral schools’ websites (Ghent University
or KU Leuven
aims to add a layer of relevance to the formal PhD programme at the university. We do this via complementary sessions that broaden the scope of the doctoral programme towards management science, via teaching preparation seminars, and through involvement in other Vlerick activities such as research centres, business games, or teaching activities. This way, we aim to optimally prepare our students for their further academic or business (school) career.
