Vlerick Business School is to launch the first Belgian 100% online MBA programme from this December. The Vlerick online MBA, which will be delivered in English, will be taught entirely remotely without any need for participants to attend any of the Vlerick Business School campuses. It will provide business leaders globally with a high-quality, tailored and pragmatic programme that fits around their schedule.

The programme, designed in partnership with education publisher Wiley, will be split into 12 separate courses with each course lasting 7 weeks. On top of this, participants will take part in two immersive projects. The IMEx business game, designed by Vlerick, tests participants’ ability to collaborate creatively under pressure in a simulated business environment. The Knowledge in Action project gives participants the opportunity to apply their knowledge and insights to a real-life consultancy project. In total the Vlerick online MBA should take 2 years of course work to complete.

There will be three start points for the online MBA annually and the programme is payable per course so that participants can break down the cost of the MBA into manageable chunks.

Professor Steve Muylle, Partner at Vlerick Business School and Academic Director of the online MBA, says, “This programme has been crafted specifically for the international business leader who doesn’t want to travel for a campus-based course, but still wants to undertake a high quality MBA to enhance his or her career. The world is increasingly digital and technology now allows us to deliver a 100% online MBA that is entirely aligned with participant needs and that provides the level of interaction with faculty and fellow participants expected of a top-quality MBA programme.”

Professor Muylle adds, “There has been a global trend towards provision of blended-learning platforms where participants are required to attend some on-campus sessions, but the market in Europe is short of options for those who do not want to incorporate travel into their learning. The Vlerick online MBA addresses this.”

Marion Debruyne, Dean of Vlerick Business School, says: "We are excited to offer our MBA in a format that fits the life of busy professionals, wherever they may be in the world. At Vlerick, we make learning innovation a priority. And that means creating impactful learning journeys that transform people, whether they take place online or offline. Our new online MBA will give students the tools to thrive in today’s complex world by inspiring them to challenge the status quo, themselves and their peers. Ultimately, we want Vlerick graduates to emerge from this MBA ready to build a better future.”
