Businesses know that society is looking to them to take the lead in sustainability. Investors demand it, communities expect it and mainly young talent is seeking out sustainable organisations to work for. At the same time, leaders are increasingly realising that doing business through an ESG lens is good for the bottom line too.
There are many routes to choose on the road to sustainability. So how do business leaders develop the confidence to choose the right path for their organisation?
Vlerick Business School is on a mission – to give businesses the insights, tools and skills they need to become more sustainable. They’ve embedded sustainability thinking into their executive programmes. And they’ve launched sustainability-driven management programmes too – including Transforming to Sustainable Business.
This four-day programme combines on-campus, online learning and project work with individual coaching – to help leaders develop and implement a sustainability transformation roadmap.
Taking the leap with Vlerick
Vlerick Professor Koen Tackx, who teaches on the programme, says it encourages leaders to reconsider their entire business model.
“Simply committing to turning the lights off at 6pm won’t save the planet,” he says. “You need to be broader. We discuss what a company can influence – and how they can implement change in their business models. We look at ways to optimise the entire value chain – from supply chain to where their products end up.”
Giving you the confidence to act
Professor Tackx adds: “The programme is hands on, with real-life cases and best practice examples. We have the ambition to change your mindset – and it will give you the clarity and direction to take action.
“Understanding what sustainable business looks like is useful. But this programme goes further, giving you the tools to make a direct impact.”
Bringing people along with you
Of course, to take action, you need your people on board. So the programme also covers change management and bringing teams on the journey with you. And it integrates topics like communication, pricing and DEI to allow you to create a multidimensional strategy.
If you’re exploring your organisation’s paths to sustainability, this programme could give you the answers you’re looking for.
“Many organisations are looking for the right way forward,” says Professor Tackx. “At Vlerick, you get the tools and frameworks to do it faster – so you can put the right foundations in place from the outset.”
Transforming to Sustainable Business launches on 22 May 2023 in Brussels. To learn more, email: annelies.claeys@vlerick.com
