Managing a fast-growing company is a challenging task that demands an enormous amount of energy. The Scale-Up Masterclass is a three-month, online experience for founders and C-level executives. This unique learning experience will help you prepare to leap into the fast-paced world of high-growth scale-ups and will have a long-term impact on your company and yourself.

Detailed programme

This highly flexible programme is designed to fit around your personal and professional commitments. There’s a new module every two weeks to work through at your own pace – and each module is accompanied by a live Q&A webinar. You’ll need to dedicate at least two hours each week to the programme to get maximum value from it.

In addition to the seven online modules, you will develop a concrete action plan for your company. An in-company project and the Vlerick Growth Scan©, will help you apply the learnings.

Module 1: Customer journey design 

  • Learn how to accelerate your sales process and shorten your sales cycle 
  • Understand personas, buyer roles and the jobs-to-be-done framework 
  • Start to design a user journey, from first touch to retention 
  • Explore how account-based marketing can help to personalise user interactions  
  • Find out how to implement a customer-first culture  

Module 2: Go-to-market strategy 

  • Discover how to build a sales team  
  • Learn to leverage the power of partnerships 
  • Get the tools to negotiate partnership deals 

Module 3: International markets 

  • Understand how to expand your customer base by tapping into international markets 
  • Assess the attractiveness of an international market 
  • Decide whether to have an HQ or decentralise your organisation  
  • Learn more about entering the US market 

Module 4: Building an HR organisation 

  • Evaluate what your culture is and how your employees behave 
  • Identify the right people and encourage the right behaviour 

Module 5: Recruiting and managing talent 

  • Recruit the right talent and ask the right questions  
  • Discover how to implement a reward strategy 
  • Learn specific tax tips and tricks to optimise your reward strategy 

Module 6: Product management and organisation 

  • Learn how to develop a product roadmap  
  • Understand the different roles that make up the product team 
  • Dive into data-driven decision-making  

Module 7: Raising finance and interacting with investors 

  • Find out why you need a board of directors  
  • Learn to create value with your board  
  • Develop a long-term vision for your company 
  • Get tips on managing the investors on your board

PERSONAL ACTION PLAN

  • In the biweekly webinar you can ask specific questions to the expert and to the group. This offers the opportunity to get insights and experiences from the speaker and your peers.
  • Apply your new learnings to an in-company project – responding to a business or strategic challenge for your own organization. Walk out with a concrete strategic business plan that maps out the future of your business and translate that into milestones, actions, and goals
  • Through our Vlerick Growth Scan©, systematically analyse your organization’s growing pains and identify levers for growth.
  • 6 months after the programme, you fill in the Growth Scan once again to evaluate your progress. After processing the findings, we come together in a webinar one more time to assess everyone’s evolution.

Online live Q&A sessions 

After each module, you’ll take part in a live, highly-interactive Q&A call, where you will: 

  1. Hear from a founder or C-level executive about their biggest mistake – and the thing they are most proud of 
  2. Join your fellow participants in a small break-out room to share your biggest challenge and get valuable feedback 
  3. Get personal feedback on your challenge from our experts
