NIMAP is targeted towards highly-educated newcomers in Belgium with a non-EU nationality (maximum 6 years in Belgium), who are looking for a job that fits their dreams and competences.

To be eligible for NIMAP, applicants must:

  • A. Have been granted (or be eligible for) asylum and hold a Belgian residency permit
    • AND Still be looking for employment
    • OR Work in a job that demonstrably does not utilize the experience, education and background specified in B and C below.
  • B. THE APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
    • A non-EU nationality
    • A bachelor, master or PhD degree (does not need to be recognised yet by NARIC) 
    • Relevant professional working experience, preferably management experience 
    • Professional level of spoken and written English
  • C. ADDITIONAL MERIT IF:
    • Already having started up Dutch or French classes

      The programme requires a lot from participants, a combination of demanding studies and internship work in a new context. Potential participants are therefore highly motivated, driven individuals that are interested in learning, exploring new areas, situations, perspectives and habits. They should also approach the programme with humility, an open mind, a willingness to share experiences and respect for individuals’ differences, yet also show a strong goal orientation and a commitment to succeed.
