Thomas Desmet is a doctoral researcher at KU Leuven and Vlerick Business School. He specialises in pharmaceutical commercialisation – and is passionate about pharmaceutical economics and identifying ways to increase efficiency without compromising quality. His ambition is to enhance access to treatments that improve and extend patients’ lives.
His research focuses on building a framework for value-driven market access to advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). His goal is to develop a deep understanding of all key factors in delivering sustainable healthcare. At Vlerick, he collaborates closely with Professor Walter Van Dyck and contributes to the Vlerick Healthcare Management Centre.
Previously, he was an intern in Market Access at Axtalis and has worked as a medical writer for EDU-CONTACT, creating, updating and translating patient brochures and care provider documents.
